Head Nut In Charge, Chuck Credo IV, started The New Orleans Beatles Festival in 2002 with an overwhelming desire to perform the music of The Beatles in a live situation. The Beatles Fest grew from that moment into one of the premier Beatles tribute shows in America over the past twenty years. The continued success of Beatles Fest led to formation of “Newspaper Taxi” – a Mixed Nuts “alter ego” band that specializes in performing the albums of The Beatles live on stage. “Taxi” performed earlier in 2022 at The House Of Blues with another sold out show featuring a live performance of the album “Let It Be” (which recently found itself back in the headlines due to the overwhelming success of Peter Jackson’s “Get Back” documentary).
In July, Taxi took the stage of the Jefferson Parish Performing Arts Center on July 23, 2022 – along with their friends in The Molly Ringwalds and The Topcats – for an incredible night of Beatles music. This performance concentrated on the “movie” songs with the theme “The Beatles Go To The Movies.” Along with the 504 Horns, Newspaper Taxi took on such songs as “Magical Mystery Tour”, “Let It Be”, “Live and Let Die”, and “Strawberry Fields Forever.” Over 1,000 fans packed The JPAC for the show and were dancing in their seats by the end of the night. The performance grew critical praise on social media and several news organizations who were in house to cover the event.
